Levy Castelloe Jr., a resident of Wakelon Rd., died Friday, April 30, 2021 at Chowan Nursing & Rehab in Edenton after a long illness.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 3, 2021 in the chapel of Walker Funeral Home with Pastor Al Mizelle officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Levy was born in Bertie County on December 24, 1939 to the late Goldie Hoggard Castelloe and Levy Castelloe. He served in the National Guard, and on December 23, 1973 married the former Evelyn Bazemore who survives. Levy retired from Lea Lumber Company after 39 years of service and was a member of Siloam Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking, yard work, and Nascar.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Castelloe and two brothers, Earl and Shelby Ray Castelloe. In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters: Melinda Modlin (Steve) of Greenville and Teresa Romesburg (Nathan) of Ruffin; and one son, Wayne Castelloe of Edenton. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Caroline Modlin, Ethan Romesburg, Joanna Romesburg and one brother, Lloyd Castelloe of Windsor.
