Lauretta Jernigan Stinnette, 72, of Becker Drive died Friday, May 1, 2020 at her home.  She was born in Bertie County April 16, 1948 to the late Earl and Mary Copeland Jernigan.  Lauretta was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church and a homemaker.  Her favorite pastime was reading a good book.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Elm Grove Baptist Church.  Rev. Preston Jernigan will officiate.

She is survived by a daughter, Sherri Taylor of Aulander; sons, Joe Jernigan and wife, Dr. Sara Chapman of Williamston and John Byrum and wife Julie of Corona, CA; sister, Earlene Mitchell of Ashland, VA; grandchildren, Kevin and Timmy,
