Kaye Smithwick Simmons 76, of Sans Souci Road, died Saturday April 24, 2021 at Vidant Bertie Hospital. She was born in Bertie County, March 3, 1945 to the late Henry Allen and Annie Belle Deans Smithwick and was predeceased by a brother, Allen Smithwick, and sisters, Elizabeth Hoggard, Hazel McLane, and Patricia Dunlow.  Kaye was a member of Lawrence Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. She was a retired bookkeeper with the Bertie County Schools.

A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday April 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Edgewood Cemetery.  Rev. Bob Skeens will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service and from the home at other times.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Hult Simmons of the home; son, Henry Kevin Simmons of Windsor; grandchildren, Christopher Kevin Simmons and Kaylee Ann Simmons; 2 great grandchildren. Memorial gifts may be made to Lawrence Baptist Church, 1043 Cooper Hill Road, Windsor, NC 27983.
