Joyce Williford Hussey of Merry Hill, N.C., was born to the late Richard C. Williford and Ella H. Williford Evans on January 10, 1929. She was a native of Bertie County.

Joyce passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 12:45, at Three Rivers Health Rehab in Windsor, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Edgewood Cemetery in Windsor, NC.

Joyce attended Albemarle Hospital School of Nursing many years ago. She worked at Bertie Memorial and Chowan Hospital and retired from Britthaven Nursing Home in Edenton in 1996.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and son, Richard (Dickie) Daniels who was killed in the Vietnam War; and husband Julian R. Hussey

She is survived by her daughters, Lucy Daniels of Edenton, NC. and Amy Worrell (Allen) of Roanoke VA; grandchildren Robert Jordan, Rebecca Ayers and Raymond Phillips all of Edenton, NC; great grandchildren, Carolyn and Elizabeth Ayers.
