Joshua Dylan Megill, 21 of Farless Rd., died Thursday, September 9, 2021 at his home.

Joshua was born on August 30, 2000 in Hertford County to Amy Mae Lee Dumalsen. He was a 2019 graduate of Bertie High School, where he was in the ROTC for all four years and graduated in 2020 from Roanoke-Chowan Community College with a degree in welding.  He was a volunteer with the Perrytown Fire Department. Joshua worked at Whites Cross Grocery. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Roland Lee and Linda Megill.

Survivors include his mother, Amy Mae Lee-Dumalsen of Chesapeake, VA; stepmother, Rosie Dumalsen and stepfather, David Cartwright; siblings, Jay Megill, Alexis Cartwright, and Brice Cartwright; grandparents, Jackie, and Paula Cartwright of Hertford, Mary F. Lee of Merry Hill; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was surrounded with love from many wonderful friends that truly loved him.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Walker Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
