Joseph Miron Hill, Sr. 92, of Hwy 305, died Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Vidant Bertie Hospital in Windsor. He was born in Bertie County October 31, 1926 to the late Joseph Haywood and Mary Sue White Hill.  Joe was a member of Askewville Assembly of God where he was a Deacon.  He retired from Dominion Power Company.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Castelloe Hill of the home; daughter, Wanda L. Blackman (Tom); sons, Joseph M. Hill, Jr.(Mary), Gene T. Hill (Ramona), Jeryl Hill (Roseann) all of Chesapeake, VA; step-son, Jackie Thomas Askew of Roanoke Rapids; step-daughters, Diane Askew Hughson (AL) of Colerain, Shelia Askew Gregory (Gene) of Roanoke Rapids, Jo Ann Askew Conner (Kevin) of Windsor; brother, Jimmy Hill of Va. Beach VA.; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grand, 2 great great grand, 9 step grand and 7 step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday December 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Askewville Assembly of God.  Rev. R. O. Denton, Jr. will officiate. A private burial will be held Wednesday December 26, 2018 at Riverside Memorial Park, 1000 East Indian River Road, Norfolk, VA  23523.
