Homecoming: Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 1:00 pm, Walker Chapel. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Walker Funeral Home and other times from the home.

John Henry Williams, Sr. (Pearly) was born on September 1, 1942, in Merry Hill, North Carolina, to the late William (Bill) Williams and Meta Dempsey Williams. He was raised in Merry Hill and Windsor, North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Louise Mann Williams who he was married to for more than 60 years. He is also survived by his seven children; John Lewis Williams (Lutelia Boone-Williams), Allen Ray Williams, John H Williams Jr., Lorie Ann Williams Hyman, Clarence Eugene Williams, (Mikasa Williams) Shirley Mae Williams Ebron (Kenneth Ebron) and Ronald Lee Williams. Additionally, Pearly is survived by 13 grandchildren; Brooke, Jamar, Anthony, Tania, Jonathan, Shaneka, Kenny Jr., Randolph, Ronald, Zachary, De'Kevion, Shantrell and Claretta and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven of his nine siblings; Rachel, John, William Jr, James, Armetta, Ella, Clyde, Charlie and his nephew, James and niece, Jannie who were raised with him. Pearly is survived by his older sister, Bessie and his younger adopted brother/grandnephew Carl and a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pearly worked as a career Machinist at a couple of Sawmills in Windsor, NC for more than 30 years. He was tough as nails, hardworking and didn't take any mess from anyone but he was also kind, gentle, considerate, compassionate and he loved his family more than anything in the world. Pearly passions were the outdoors, music, playing pool, and dancing. Pearly was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved creating and cultivating a garden, doing yard work, and raising hogs. One of his favorite pastimes was playing the guitar. You could hear him plucking the strings a mile down the road. Pearly was one of the best dancers in the Merry Hill Community. People used to clear the dance floor to watch him, and his niece Jannie Mae cut the rug. His pool playing expertise knew no bounds. As a teenager he once earned enough money to buy his school clothes. Pearly was a good provider, a devoted husband and father. He will be truly and greatly missed by his family and friends. Pearly is now "Home" with all of his loved ones who preceded him in death. Rest In Peace Pearly.
