John "Fishawk" Michael Thomas, Jr., 61, of Republican Road, died Thursday August 5, 2021, at Vidant Bertie Hospital. He was born in Bertie County, October 8, 1959, to the late Mary Iris Castellow and John Michael Thomas, Sr.  "Fishawk" was a member of Pritchard's Road Church. He was a farmer as well as owning chicken houses.  Mike loved the outdoors life. Hunting and fishing and caring for his best friend, "Lillie" were his pleasures.

A memorial service will be held Monday August 9, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Edgewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service and from the home of Cindy Thomas Massey, 119 Sandpit Road, Windsor.

Survivors include his daughter, Katie Thomas; son John "Jobie" Robert Thomas both of Windsor; sisters, Kay Thomas and Cindy Thomas Massey both of Windsor.
