Jessie "Jack" W. Taylor, 86 of Garrett Road, died at home, Tuesday February 2, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Jack was born in Martin County August 31, 1934 to the late Samuel E. and Allie Hardy Taylor and was predeceased by sisters, Lou Allie Peel, Dale Proseus, Annie Jean Godard and Faye Modlin; brothers, Leslie Taylor and R. T. "Dock" Taylor, Asa Tom Taylor. He graduated from Robersonville High School and retired from the NC Department of Transportation.  Jack loved to fox hunt, deer hunt and run dogs. He was member of numerous hunting clubs in the area. He also loved to fish and was a great cook.  Jack served his country in the US Army.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Hamilton Cemetery with military honors.  Rev. Robbie Parker will officiate, and Jimmy Johnson will speak.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Sylvia Roebuck Taylor of the home; daughters, Jackie Lyn Taylor of Robersonville; Lisa Taylor Harrell and husband, Ray of Sims; grandchildren, Jessica H. Mitchell, Hannah Margaret Hardison and Joshua Harrell; great grandchildren, Raelyn Mitchell and Holden Mitchell.

The family will receive friends following the service.  They ask that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing.
