Jessie Franklin Waters, 77, of  Lindbergh Ave. and formerly of Windsor passed away Friday January 26, 2024, at UNC Nash Hospital in Rocky Mount. He was born in Bertie County Oct. 27, 1946, to the late Phillip and Mildred Gurganus Waters and was predeceased by a brother, Nick Waters. Jessie was formerly the assistant Fire Chief for the Kitty Hawk Volunteer Fire Department. He was the owner and operator of Kitty Hawk Iron and Steel, Inc. Jesse was a proud Marine having served during the Vietnam Era.

Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor. Rev. Ben Bunch will officiate.

Survivors include his sisters, Jean Williamson and husband, Jeff of Washington, Peggy Bullock and husband, Edward of Kingsland, TX, Carolyn Craven of Zebulon; special nephew, Phillip Waters and wife, Sharon of Windsor as well as many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
