Jesse Wayne Matthews, 60 of Wildcat Rd., died Sunday July 24, 2022, at ECU Health Medical Center.

Jesse was born on February 17, 1962, in Pitt County to Kathryn Meeks Whitaker and the late Clarence Marvis Matthews. He was a tow motor/forklift operator at Weitron. Jesse loved fishing, people, food and enjoyed working.

Survivors include, mother, Kathryn Meeks Whitaker of the home; brother, Joe Matthews (Debbie) of Tarboro; sisters, Jane Knox (Mack) of Parmele and Kay MacGray of Williamston, numerous nieces and nephews and his companion little bit.

Per his request no services are scheduled.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association of the American Liver Foundation.
