Williamston

Obituary

Dateline: Williamston NC

Jeff or Uncle Jeff as he was more often referred to was born on February 14th of 1955 to Roland and Maxine Rogers. He was blessed to have five brothers and four sisters for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donnie, his brother Steve, and his brother Andy. He is survived by his sister Melinda Whitehurst and husband Donnie, his brother Kenny "Catfish" Rogers and wife Kathy, his sister Judy Batts and husband Bebo, his sister Susie Bullock and husband Keith, his brother Mike, and his sister Amy Mohn and husband Mike. Jeff also leaves behind Dale Garris former wife to Donnie and Kristy Rogers wife of Andy. Uncle Jeff also left behind his true companion Buddy who will forever be loved and taken care of by this family as well.

For most of his working life Uncle Jeff worked in the lineman field. He had many work brothers during these years and his first cousin Moosty Speller typically by his side. He proudly retired from Dominion Power and went on to live retired life for helping others, which included a long list of lifetime friends and family. He loved to make sure everyone was fed and well looked after. He loved to be the guy we called when we needed a little light put up or some minor repair around the house. Some of us even needed help to build a house and whatever else we might be building at the time. You could count on Uncle Jeff to be fifteen minutes early, and to drive you to get it done. He often seemed harsh or tough but on the inside he was one of the hardest loving people you would ever meet. He had to be well dressed no matter where he was going, and he truly had a whit of his own.

He left behind many truly loving friends and some that were not only family to him; they became family to all of us. There will be many times in the coming days where we look up and expect to see you coming up our driveways or calling our phones, but we will somehow know that you are there even if we don't see you. Uncle Jeff or as some us referred to him as "Jeffro" will truly be missed by all of us whether it's the daily phone call or the family gatherings there will be a void in our lives but not in our hearts. He will truly live on in our hearts forever. Uncle Jeff we all look forward to reuniting with you and all of the others one day when we arrive in Heaven. We love you.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM  on Friday May 2, 2025 at Martin Memorial Gardens with Stan Matthews officiating. The family will receive friends and family following the service at the grave.
