Dateline: Roper, NC

Mrs. Janice Hollis Alonzo, a resident of Mill Pond Rd. Roper, NC passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, March 7, 2025 with her family there. A gathering of family and close friends will be held at the home.

Janice was born to Daisy Bullock Hollis and Robert Hollis in Beaufort County on October 21, 1951.  After her schooling she married Marvin Lee Oliver who preceded her in death. Janice later married Jose' L. Alonzo who survives. Janice was a homemaker and enjoyed playing Bingo and fishing.

Along with her parents and first husband Janice was preceded in death by two sisters: Rachael Hollis and Betty Lou Smith; and one brother David Nelson Hollis. Surviving with her husband is one son Marvin Lee Oliver Jr., of the home. Other survivors include two sisters: Brenda Hollis of New Bern, and Patricia Ann Hufton of Elizabeth City; and her Fur Babies: Lucky, Colby, Mattie, and Bella.
