James Richard Stancill 73, of Robersonville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at his home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel in Williamston with Pastor Chris Minton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and other times at the home. A private burial will follow the service in The Stancill Family Cemetery.

James was born on April 18, 1951 to the late James Rufus Stancill and Doris Ann Ferren Stancill in Baltimore, Maryland. Following his formal education he married Lois Susan Wileman Stancill who preceded him in death. James was a truck driver for Purdue for many years. In his spare time he loved being a volunteer firefighter and EMS worker for Belvoir, Bethel and Robersonville fire departments. James loved singing, fishing, gardening and working on his tractor.

Survivors include one daughter, Sarah S. Godwin and husband Scott of Winterville; sons, James Richard  "Jimmy"  Stancill and wife Lisa, and Mark Daniel Stancill all of Robersonville; other survivors include: seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one sister, Darlene Williams and husband John of Coats, NC.
