James "Wes" Spruill 74, of NC Hwy 125, died Thursday, May 7, 2020 at his home. He was born in Tyrrell County November 11, 1945 to the late Junior and Ruth Elaine Craddock Spruill and was predeceased by three sisters, Kathy Spruill, Barbara Ann Spruill, Mary Lou Combs; two brothers, Bobby and Larry Spruill and a great-granddaughter, Sophia Grace Hannon.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia O'Connell Spruill of the home; daughter, Amy K. French of Orange, VA; step-son, Daniel Elliott of Martinsburg, WV; sisters, Jean Skittletharpe of Pungo, Betty Shaw of Clayton, Linda Paige of Greenville, Debra Council of Williamston; brother, Thomas Spruill of Chocowinity; grandchildren, Joey Hannon, Kimberly Mestanas, Lauren Walthall, Ryan Walthall, Nicolas Elliott, Olivia Elliott; great grandchildren, D'Andra Hannon Joey Jr. Hannon and Ciara Hannon.
