James Lee Modlin, 88 of Mill Rd., died Sunday, August 23, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Modlin was born on September 16, 1931 in Martin County to the late Jesse Raymond and Vadie Virginia Wynne Modlin.  He was a supervisor with Weyerhaeuser for roads and drainage. He was a member of Cedar Branch Baptist Church. Mr. Modlin was a US Army veteran and enjoyed fishing and golf. He was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond Gray Modlin, Ervin Hugh Modlin, Richard Allen Modlin and Mitchell Curtis Modlin, sisters, Margaret Virginia Modlin Dobson, Wilda Yvonne Modlin Cahoon.

Survivors include; wife, Margaretta "June" Spruill Modlin of the home; brothers, Paul Norman Modlin and Jackie Shelton Modlin; sisters, Mittie Catherine Modlin Ward, Vadie Jane Modlin Leggett and Virgie Louise Modlin Cherry.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Cedar Branch Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Paul Weaver and Rev. Joseph Seay officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
