James Michael "Mike" Moore 44, of Joe Mobley Road, died Tuesday January 5, 2021 at Martin General Hospital.  He was born in Martin County March 31, 1976 to Maggie Harris and Simon Daniel Moore and predeceased by a sister, Cherry Price Daus and brother, Brian Leggett.  Mike was a member of Macedonia Christian Church and a registered nurse with Martin General Hospital Emergency Room.  He loved taking care of others.  He was the President of the Martin County Youth Soccer Association.  If a volunteer was needed, anyone could count on Mike to help.            ~

While performing duties as president of the Soccer association, Mike also coached recreation soccer during the seasons.  He was also known as "Coach Mike", "Mr. Mike" and "Mike Moore" by his players and friends.  He was the assistant soccer coach of Bear Grass Charter School.  Mike grabbed every opportunity to assist with coaching or helping with any sport Jamison or Colin were a part of including baseball, boy scouts, soccer and coached basketball for the Macedonia Upward league.

A funeral service will be held on the Godwin-Coppage soccer field on Tyner road Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM.  Rev. Greg Sexton will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 PM Friday, January 8 ^th at Walker Funeral Home, Williamston.

He is survived by his wife, Ginger Clardy Moore of the home; sons, Jamison Michael Moore and Colin Garrett Moore and two puppy companions, Skittles and Otis, also of the home; parents; Simon D. Moore and Donna Nicholson of Rocky Mount, Maggie Harris and Carlos Baegra of Rocky Mount; second parents, Big Mike and Cathy Price of Williamston; mother-in-law, Anna DeGeest of Williamston; brothers, Robbie Moore and wife Victoria of Williamston, Jarrod Price and wife Laura of Williamston, Little Mike Price and wife Liz of Wilmington; sisters, Angel Coppedge and husband Trey of Rocky Mount and Jenna King and husband Corey of Miss.; brother-in-law, Daniel DeGeest and wife Faith of Williamston.  Mike is survived by his nieces and nephews, Daniel Moore, Raylan Moore, Corbin Moore, Erin Rawls, Raegan Rawls, Ty Price, Cee Cee Daus, Julia Woods, Nasir Daniels, Gabby Coppedge, Sierra Price, Jonathan Price, Josie Price, James Price, Francis Price, Zachery King, Cordelia King and Sylphrena King.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Mike's honor may be made to the Martin County Youth Soccer League, 1172 Tyner Road, Williamston, NC 27892.

The family asked that everyone wear masks and practice social distancing at the service and visitation. The family requests that those planning to attend bring a chair and blanket.
