James Willie Davis, Sr., 84, of Broad Street, died Wednesday September 5, 2018 at his home. He was born November 18, 1933 to the late Ollie F. and Sallie Manning Davis and was predeceased by three sisters, Gladys Copeland, Elizabeth Mizelle and Verna Pierce. Willie attended the Freedom Fellowship Church and was a retired heavy equipment operator with Richardson & Wayland Company.

Funeral services will be held Saturday September 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jason Johnson and Rev. Kenneth Cobb will officiate.  Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Daisy Burch Davis of the home; daughter, Donna Davis of Holden's Beach, NC; son J. Willie Davis, Jr. and wife Lisa of Windsor; sisters, Estelle Durham of Eden, NC, Linda Vann of Ahoskie, NC, Lettie Mizelle of Windsor, NC; brother, Edgar "Buddy" Davis of Cowen, WV; grandchildren, Brandon Daw and Ashley Mizelle and husband Preston; great grandchild, Liam Mizelle.

The family will receive friends Friday September 7 ^th from 7-8:30 PM at Walker Funeral Home and from their home at other times.  Memorial gifts may be made to either Freedom Fellowship, 211 Bess Landing Road, Colerain, NC 27924 or to Community Homecare and Hospice, 107 West Blvd, Williamston NC 27892.
