James "Buster" Davis Modlin, 93 of Middle St., died Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Modlin was born in Martin County on September 23, 1927 to the late Clyde and Mary Davis Modlin. He was a 1947 graduate of Jamesville High School and served in the US Army. Mr. Modlin was retired as a Class A millwright with Weyerhaeuser and was a farmer. He was a member of Poplar Chapel Church of Christ, where he served as deacon, treasurer of the Building Fund and as a trustee. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Taylor Modlin, whom he was married to for 55 years, sons, James Rodney Modlin and Joseph Wayne Hardison, sisters, Mary Clyde Hardison and Faye Schorb and grandson, James Rodney Modlin, Jr.

Survivors include; wife, Ina Hardison Modlin of the home; sons, Timmie Ray Modlin of Jamesville and Chris Hardison of Farmlife; daughters, Violet Gladfelter and Joan Leggett of Jamesville and Janet Hardison of Washington; brother, William "Billy" Nathan Modlin of Jamesville; grandchildren, nine; great grandchildren, seven.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Poplar Chapel Church of Christ with Elbert Lilley, Carroll Jones and David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery. *Masks are Required*

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 Pm until 8:00 PM at the church and other times from the home.
