Jasper Walker Silverthorne, 74, of Corey Drive, died October 14, 2020 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.

He was born in Martin County September 23, 1946 to the late Henry Jasper and Daisy Mae Holliday Silverthorne and was predeceased by a son, Hank Silverthorne and a brother, Gene Silverthorne.  Walker was a lineman with NC Dominion Power and a member or the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.  He enjoyed family and friends and all the Saturdays with boys and he really loved and spoiled his grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday October 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Martin Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Roger Leggett and Rev. Chad Holcomb will officiate.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Bland Silverthorne of the home; son, Joey Silverthorne and wife Sharon of Williamston; sisters, Betty Rogers (Felton) of Williamston, Lydia Mitchell (Jim) of Smithfield, VA, Janie Silverthorne of Newport News, VA; brother, Dallas Silverthorne (Angela) of Va. Beach, VA; grandchildren, Melody Nelson, Hayley, Taylor and Walker Silverthorne, Dylan Tripp (Grace); great grandchildren, Mary Ella, Mae and Mattie Nelson, Thorne Edwards.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service and from the home at other times.
