Iva Jean Corey Harrison. Jean, age 85, left this world and moved to her new home in Heaven on 14 October, 2018. Jean married Elton J. Harrison on 19 August, 1950. The couple celebrated their sixty eight anniversary on the 19 August, 2018.

Elton has served a tour of two years in the Regular Army, and six months in the Army Reserve before he met Jean in 1949. Jean was a constant companion to Elton for his entire service of twenty years and six months in the United States Air Force, except for a one year tour in Thule, Greenland and a year tour in Southeast Asia. She traveled with him and their two daughters (Brenda and Terri) on a two year tour in the Panama Canal Zone. They moved several times to many Air Force bases in the US.

Elton had worked for the Veterans Administration for fourteen and on half years. He worked at seven different VA Medical Centers during this time. Jean was his sweetheart during all this time. She made life worth living and they moved five times during his employment with the VA.

One of her sisters, Cleo C. Whitley, survives her. Her other sister, Dorothy C. Brewer died on 27 November, 2017.

There is one daughter surviving: Terri A. Erwin (Husband Richard). Her other daughter, Brenda Jean Alexander preceded her in death.

There are eight grandchildren: Caleb Alexander (wife Casie), Gideon Alexander (wife Nina), Bethany Barmer (husband Ricky), Sarah Alexander, Travis L. Erwin (wife Sarah), Tyler L. Erwin, Trevor L. Erwin, and Tully L. Erwin (wife Elizabeth).

There are seven great grandchildren: Annabelle Rosalie Erwin (parents Tully and Elizabeth Erwin), Asher Alexander (parents Caleb and Casie Alexander), Jackson Alexander (parents Gideon and Nina Alexander), Ryker Barmer (parents Ricky and Bethany Barmer), Charlotte Alexander (parents Gideon and Nina Alexander), and Blaire and Cassalina Erwin- identical twins (parents Tully and Elizabeth Erwin).

Jean was a member of Maple Grove Christian Church from a very young age to her death. She was unable to attend Church for the past fifteen years due to health problems. She loves the Lord Jesus with all her heart. There were very few nights that she and Elton did not have devotions and Bible readings. She continued to give gifts of money to the Church each month until her death.

Visitation at Walker Funeral Home from 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday Oct. 18, 2018 and Elton will welcome visitors at the home anytime.

Funeral Service at Walker Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday Oct. 18 ^th .  Joey Brickhouse, pastor at Maple Grove Christian Church will conduct the service.  Burial will follow in the Hardison Mill Cemetery.
