Hilda Baker Hoggard, 93, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. Hilda was born on January 15, 1932, in Bertie County, North Carolina. Hilda was a member of Wakelon Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Allie Nicholson Baker and Elmer John Baker; her husband, Raymond Rufus Hoggard; siblings, E.J. Baker, Johnny G. Baker, Marvin Baker, Elmer Grey Evers, Edith Bryant and Inez Robertson.

Hilda is survived by her son, Carroll Hoggard and wife Joyce; daughters Phyllis Edwards and husband Jimmy and Penny White and husband Ed; grandchildren, Stephanie Hoggard, Gayle Bartlett and husband Kevin, Jimmie Edwards and fiancé Crystal Cross, Shannon Langreck and husband Matt and Maggie Chism and husband Jeffery; great grandchildren, Travis Edwards, Zack Edwards, Eli Langreck, Presley Langreck, Greyson Chism and Emory Chism.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Ms. Hilda's "CNA", Dee and all the Gentiva Hospice personnel that helped her and her family.

A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Colerain on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor David Alan White officiating.
