Ms. Gwendolyn 'Gwen" Barnes Bazemore, age 94, a resident of N. King Street Windsor, passed away late Thursday evening, October 2, 2025 at ECU Medical Center in Greenville.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Edgewood  Cemetery in Windsor. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the gravesite.

Ms. Gwen was born on October 15, 1930 in Northampton County to Dolph and Maggie Futhrell Barnes. After her schooling she married William A. Bazemore on September 15, 1950, and were happily married until his death.  She worked for Windsor Pharmacy as a Bookkeeper for over 30 years and was a faithful member of Rehoboth Methodist Church in Jackson.  Ms. Gwen loved he family, and gardening.

In addition to her to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three sisters: Janice, Maxine, and Patricia; five brothers: Linwood, Horace, Odell, Theodore, and Rudolph. Survivors include: one son, William 'Dennis" D. Bazemore and wife Frances of Windsor; two Brothers: Burland Barnes of Louisville, KY and Talmadge Barnes of Rich Square.  Memorial may be made to Rehoboth Methodist Church, 4871 NC 305, Rich Square, NC  27869.
