Graham Marshall "Tiny" Hughes , 89, of Sand Hill Road passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024, at ECU Bertie Hospital.  Marshall was born in Bertie County to the late George Worley Hughes and Adelaide Temperance Perry Hughes on November 21, 1934. He was predeceased by his three brothers; Forrest, Willie and George Hughes and two sisters; Ruth Elder Whitley and Edith Hughes. Marshall worked at Lea Lumber Company and for the Hertford Co. School system.  When Marshall wasn't hunting or fishing you could find him tinkering around the yard. He raised quail and other wildlife.

Funeral  services will be held Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Perrytown Pentecostal Holiness Church in Perrytown, NC. Pastor David Baker will officiate. A burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Colerain, NC.

Survivors include his wife, Velma Rose Askew Hughes of the home; daughter, Angela Hughes King (Toby) of Colerain; sons, Gary Graham Hughes (Pamela Bracey) and Darryl Wayne Hughes both of Colerain; sister, Margaret Holland of Suffolk, Va; grandchildren, Graham Wynne Hughes, Mason Lear Hughes, Cynthia Williams, Miranda King, Ashley Hughes, Darryl Hughes, Jr. and great grandchildren, Macye Hughes, Malachi Hughes, Elijah Whitfield, Kyley Whitfield, Alden Williams, and Aubrey Williams.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 3rd  at Walker Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM and from the home at other times.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Perrytown Fire Department or Perrytown Assembly of God.
