Mr. Garland Ray Nicholson, age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at The Williamston House with his loving family by his side.

Garland was born on February 23, 1944, to Evelyn Grace Rogers and Carroll Elec Nicholson. He married the former Linda Hudson on July 9, 1973, and just celebrated fifty-two years of marriage. Mr. Garland worked for Williamston Yarn Mill as an electrician for many years, and in his spare time loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Gene Carroll Nicholson, Charles Nicholson, and Tony Whitley and his  daughter in-law Tracy Moore.

Mr. Garland is survived by his loving Wife, Mary "Linda" Hudson Nicholson, four children: Christopher Ray Nicholson and wife Debbie, Stephen  Moore, Tim Moore and wife Lisa, and Clayton Moore and wife Autumn. Eight grandchildren: Hailey, Alex, Trent, Tyler, Taylor, Stephanie, Kristina, and Dylan; one great granddaughter, Paisley.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 16, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home, chapel in Williamston at 2:00 PM with Pastor Roger Leggett officiating, and music provided by Tim Moore, Robbie Parnell and Steadfast Quartet. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens with the following serving as pallbearers: Trent Moore, Travis Cowan, James Baker, Montgomery Hudson, Dylan Nicholson, Ryan Hudson and Cliff Hudson
