Esther Elizabeth Perry 92, of Wakelon, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, January 27, 2025 at home with her loving children by her side.
Esther was one of 11 children born to Lee O. Perry and Vera Baker Perry on March 17, 1932 in Bertie County.
On July 19, 1949, Esther married Henry Leon Perry. They welcomed 7 children into the marriage. In addition to being a homemaker, Esther farmed alongside her husband, later owning and operating Wakelon Grocery for many years.
Esther was a dedicated member of Wakelon Pentecostal Holiness Church, where her faith and love for the Lord always came first; a true testimony that will live on forever.
Surviving her siblings, Esther was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, her husband Leon, sons Ronnie and Don, and her daughters Kathy and Anne.
Left to cherish her loving memory are her daughters Lynette Brabble (Pat) of Ahoskie, Teresa Farless (Stuart) of Colerain and her son Vann Perry (Tina) of Wakelon, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Esther carried many names given by her grands and greats; Grandma, Bunny, Donk Donk, Bun Hop and Granny Esther leaves a wonderful legacy of love to each and every one. Family was everything to her, praying many prayers of love and care through the years.
A graveside service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the Perry Family Cemetery in Wakelon by Rev. Sammy Williams.
