Ernest Mack Reason, 82 of Tar Landing Rd., died Thursday, July 30, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Reason was born on November 29, 1937 in Martin County to the late James Ernest and Hazel Bell Phelps Reason. He was an automotive mechanic, a US Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Sterling Reason; son, James Mack Reason; brothers, Onward, Ray and Ben Reason and sister, Estelle Davenport.

A Graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Edgewood Cemetery with Dale Redman officiating.

Survivors include his daughters, Kay Hicks of Everetts and Shirley Hurst of Williamston; son, Larry Wayne Reason of Everetts; grandchildren, five; great grandchildren, five.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jamesville EMS and Rescue, PO Box 17, Jamesville NC 27846.
