Edward Randolph “Randy” White, Jr October 7, 1944 - September 10, 2026 Edward Randolph “Randy” White, Jr, of Raleigh, NC, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026.

Born in Windsor, NC, Randy attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated from the University of West Georgia. With the United States federal government he enjoyed a distinguished 26 year career with the Internal Revenue Service as a Special Agent in the Criminal Investigation Division. After retiring from his federal service, he continued his work as an investigator with the North Carolina State Bar from which he retired after 10 plus years of service.

Randy’s greatest joy was his family, especially his beloved wife of 51 years, Linda “Lin”. Their dedication to each other and family were the cornerstones of their marriage. Randy was immensely proud of his daughter, Elizabeth Warner, who oversaw his care for several years. He also cherished family gatherings and visits from his 8 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters.

Randy had a love for holiday celebrations- but none were more fun to enjoy with him than Christmas. He and Lin would spend months thinking of the perfect gifts, deciding on menus, and planning travels to see friends and family. Their love of the holidays was large- bringing a smile to all who were touched by their commitment and generosity.

Randy was also an enthusiastic supporter of UNC basketball and football; he loved learning about North Carolina history, vintage model cars, eastern NC barbecue and seafood and “Mike’s steaks” grilled perfectly by his son-in-law. Although he had many interests, nothing made him happier than cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events, school functions and celebrating life’s milestones.

Randy is survived by his wife, Linda White; daughter, Elizabeth Warner(Mike); son, Jay Spoor; daughter-in-law, Jamie Saleeby and his sister Adelia Powell; grandchildren Carly Warner(Chris), Britt Warner(Adam- to be married 6/12/27), Hope Warner, Worth Warner, Adair Fuller(Winn), Allie Manning(John), Jed Spoor, and Sydney Spoor; great grandchildren Larson Manning, Margaret Manning and Lucy Burney.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to longtime caregiver, Sheral Hackney, Waltonwood Senior Living, Transitions LifeCare and Dr. Jim Parsons who all worked diligently to provide the best quality of life that Randy could enjoy these last few years. Randy will be remembered for his integrity, his devotion to family and the love he shared so generously with those around him. He will be missed beyond measure, remembered with gratitude and loved always.

The family will be hosting a memorial service on September 17, 2026, 2pm at Hayes Barton UMC in Raleigh, NC. There will also be a graveside service on September 18, 2026 in Windsor, NC.
