Dorothy ("Dot") Brown Manning Rogerson, 96, passed away on July 11, 2024, at Three Rivers Health & Rehabilitation Center in Windsor, NC, where she was a beloved resident since 2021. Born on December 3, 1927, in Griffin's Township, Farm Life Community, Dot was the youngest child of Walter Alexander and Malinda Lilly Manning. She was raised on a farm with three brothers and six sisters and graduated from the Asa Manning School in Farm Life. Dot obtained her cosmetology license in Raleigh, NC.

On June 5, 1950, Dot married Dannie Randolph Rogerson. They had two daughters, Ranae and Robin, and one son, Randy Keith. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975 and her son in 2006. Dot is survived by her daughters, Ranae Rogerson (Mary Bridges) of Goldsboro, NC, and Robin Rogerson Spruill (Mike) of Seaford, VA; four grandchildren, Brandie and Blair Knox, Kristy Rogerson Thomas, and Randolph Rogerson; four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and their families, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Dot was a lifelong member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, participating in the annual Easter Drama, and being an active member of The Senior Saints. She was also involved with the Caddie Peel Circle at Piney Grove and the Farm Life Ruritanettes. Dot co-owned and managed a beauty salon in Williamston, NC, for over twenty years, before continuing that work in her home salon for several years thereafter.

Her community, particularly her church community, was incredibly important to her. In her later years, one of Dot's favorite activities was gathering with friends during her mornings at Bojangles (in particular, a cheese biscuit with no cheese "skirt").

A celebration to remember her life will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Piney Grove Baptist Church with pastor Larry Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 5:30 PM at Walker Funeral Home-Williamston.
