Dorothy Phelps Pierce 85, of Cooper Hill Road passed away Monday October 7, 2024, at ECU Medical Center, Greenville. She was born November 8, 1938 in Bertie County to the late Percy and Frances Pierce Phelps and was predeceased by one brother, Percy Phelps.

Dorothy was an active member of Windsor Assembly of God where she sang in the choir. She loved to work in her yard and grow beautiful flowers in her garden. Dorothy worked with several department stores in Windsor, and later volunteered as a tour guide at Hope Plantation. She was a gifted pianist and crafted many porcelain dolls in her lifetime.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Windsor Assembly of God. Rev. Chuck Grey will be officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery,

Survivors included her husband, John L. Pierce of the home; daughtersm Sharon Pierce of Windsor and Lisa Pierce Waters of Williamston; son, John L. Pierce, III and his wife, Donna of Windsor; sister, Doris June Hoggard of Windsor; grandchildren: Amanda Hoggard (Rick), William Waters, III (Allie), Heidi Matthews, Madison Todd and William Raynor Waters IV.

The family will receive friends Thursday October 10, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Walker Funeral Home, and other times at the home. Memorial gift donations may be sent to Windsor Assembly of God, 1505 S. King St., Windsor NC, 27983.
