Doris Phelps Hoggard, 89, of Windsor, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at Edenton House. Doris was born on May 27, 1935 to Percy Everett and Francis Penelope Phelps. Doris was married to David Winston Hoggard who preceded her in death in 2022. She worked as a Loom Operator for George C. Moore and had been with the company for 32 years when she retired. During her free time Doris enjoyed gardening, doing crossword puzzles and she loved to cook for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband Doris is predeceased by a brother, Percy Francis Phelps and sister, Dorothy Jean Pierce.

Doris is survived by a son, David W. Hoggard Jr. (Mary Ellen) of Windsor: a daughter, Cynthia K. Hoggard Lewis of Edenton: grandchildren, Micheal Hoggard, Renee Willard (Glenn Price), Blake Fuller (Leslie), Melissa Mingin (Chris): greatgrandchildren, Katelyne Stacey (James), Kassidy Clark( Nolan), Holden Fuller, Sydney Fuller, Haley Nash, Isabella Grace Mingin, Wyatt Mingin.

A private graveside service will be held for family and friends at the Ross Baptist Church Cemetery.
