Dateline: Williamston

Ms. Doris Louise Guy Swanner, age 73, a resident of US Hwy 64 Williamston, passed away peacefully on Monday December 15, 2025 at ECU Medical Health Center, in Greenville.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Everett's Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Boone officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers: Billy Bell, Jesse Rawls, Neil Jones, BJ Nicholson, and Marty Nicholson.

Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Walker Funeral Home of Williamston.

Ms. Doris was born in Virginia, Beach, Va. on August 11, 1952, to Ruth Adeline Moore Guy and Ralph Guy. After her education she later married Eddie Swanner who preceded her in death in 2011. Ms. Doris was a member of Everett's Baptist Church and worked as a CNA nurse at Old Mill Family Care, in Rocky Mount until her retirement. She loved spending time with her Children, grandchildren, and foster children, her pets she affectionally titled "The Black Pack" Ms. Doris also enjoyed playing bingo, and bargain shopping.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ms. Doris was also preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her three  sons: Jeffery Swanner (Jodi) of Robersonville, Jacob Guy LaMarche of Williamston, and Neil Jones of Williamston; five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
