Doris Elizabeth Barnes Gardner went to meet the Lord on September 25, 2024 around 2 AM at Windsor House. Doris was born in Martin County on November 25, 1925 to Walter Barnes and Tillie Barnes. Doris was predeceased by her parents and her husband, James Gardner; a son,Timmy Gardner; brothers Walter Barnes Jr., William Barnes, Nickey Barnes, and James Barnes; sisters, Hazel Oakley and Gladys Spruill.

Doris is survived by her son, Donald Gardner of Williamston; 5 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Doris was a member of Siloam Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held at Edgewood Cemetery Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Adrian Modlin will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Walker Funeral Home and will travel to the Cemetery in procession. The family will also receive friends at the home of James Gardner, 405 Railroad Street, Hamilton NC, 27840.
