Doris Castellow Cooper, 86, of Big Mill Road and formally of Windsor passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at her daughter's home. She was born in Bertie County November 28, 1936, to the late Willie and Lora Mizelle Castellow and was predeceased by her first husband, Asa "Little Bud" Jeremiah Cooper and her second husband, Douglas Lewis; sister, Shirley Jernigan; brother, Ruedon Castellow.

Doris was the manager and district supervisor for Cato's for 35 years, and later retired from Walmart. She loved to dress up, gardening, fishing and shopping at Thrift stores. She was a member of Woodville Baptist Church.

A graveside funeral will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at Edgewood Cemetery. Sammy Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Cooper Brandon and husband Tom of Williamston, Margaret Cooper Dunlow and husband Donald of Williamston; sister, Loretta Mizelle; brothers, Thurman Castellow of Maryland and Harry Castellow of Williamston, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to acknowledge Doris's granddaughter Emily, for her many years of unwavering love and care for her grandmother.
