Donnie Spivey 75, of South King Street, died Wednesday September 25, 2019 at his home. He was born in Norfolk VA to the late Wayland and Effie Miller Spivey and predeceased by a sister, Helen Brown; brothers, Kenneth, Gary, Jesse and Ronnie Spivey and a special nephew, Joey Harrison.

Donnie was a member of Greens Cross Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School superintendent.  He was very active in prison ministry and loved coaching Little League Baseball.  Donnie retired as a city letter carrier with the US Postal Service and was an Army veteran of Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathy Conner Spivey; daughter, Donnette Spivey Barnes of Windsor; sister, Cheryl Williams of Rocky Mount; very special nieces and nephews, Courtney Castelloe, Logan Mizell and Sarah Harrison.

The family will receive friends Saturday November 16, 2019 from 2-3 o'clock PM at Walker Funeral Home in Windsor.
