Donald Peaks, 80 of 1136 Rose Bud Lane, died Friday, March 8, 2019 at Vidant Medical Center.

Mr. Peaks was born on June 19, 1938 in Martin County to the late Jodie Peaks and Ruth Price Peaks. He was a carpenter with Peaks Construction Company, a member of Macedonia Christian Church and a former member of the Bear Grass Ruritan Club. Mr. Peaks was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by brothers Bobby and Ronald Peaks.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Bright Peaks of the home; sons, Jodie Keith Peaks (Becky) of Williamston, Buddy Womble (Beverly) of Bear Grass and Donnie Edison Peaks (Suzanne) of Tallahassee, FL; daughter, Sharron Bowen (Ray) of Chocowinity; brother, JL Peaks (Nan) of Williamston; sisters, Janie Nicholson of Williamston, Jo Morgan of Winterville and Kathy Deans of Bear Grass; grandchildren, Allison Peaks, Melissa Peaks, Little Buddy Womble, Amanda Womble Clark, Michael Bowen, Matthew Bowen and Trey Price; great grandchildren, Wayland Womble and Grayson Clark.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Macedonia Christian Church with Rev. Greg Sexton and Eric Woolard officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the benevolent fund at Macedonia Christian Church.
