Diane Markland Sottilare, 63 of US Hwy 64 East, died Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at ECU Medical Center.

Diane was born on February 29, 1960, in Washington County to the late Bill and Peggy Hardison Markland. She was a manager with Holiday Inn Express in Plymouth for over 15 years. Diane was a member of Holly Springs United Methodist Church and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Billy Markland.

Survivors include; son, Paul Sottilare (Diana) of Williamston; daughter, Emily Sottilare of Williamston; grandchildren, Melina and Leo.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Hardison Family Cemetery at 1695 Fairview Church Rd., Jamesville, with Rev. Laura Early officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
