David Rudolph Joyner, Jr. 69 of Hoggard Mill Road passed away at ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital on October 26, 2022. He was born in Bertie County, NC on November 4, 1952, to the late David Rudolph Joyner, Sr. and Lyda Swift Joyner.  David retired from Newport News Shipbuilding - A Division of Huntington Ingalls Industries. His hobbies included fishing, woodworking, tinkering, mowing grass and shooting pool with his wife Cheryl.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Joyner of the home; daughters, Kim Young (Greg Davenport) and Kris Dalton (Robert Dalton) both of Newport News, VA; stepsons, Ronald Smith of VA, and Geoff Cascades (Corrie) of Borger, TX; his sister, Bertie Pauline Carter of Windsor; seven Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild.
