Darvin Crayton Harden 84, of 137 Millennium Road, died Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville. He was born in Bertie County January 21, 1935 to the late Joseph Merrill and Lucy Swano Jernigan Harden and was predeceased by a brother, Mack Harden. Darvin was an insurance salesman in his later years. He was a member or Maranatha Baptist Church in Aulander before its closing.

Funeral services will be held Thursday March 7, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Askewville Baptist Church in Askewville. Rev. J. N. Baggett will officiate.  Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Hoggard Harden of the home; son Merrill Harden and wife Vicki of Ahoskie; sisters, Joann Hoggard and Linda Johnson both of Windsor.

The family will receive one hour before services (1-2 PM) at Askewville Baptist Church and from the home at other times.
