David Winston Hoggard, 93 of Bull Hill Road, died Monday, January 10, 2022, at Vidant Chowan Hospital in Edenton. He was born in Bertie County November 5, 1928, to the late David George and Mary Elizabeth Hoggard and was predeceased by his eight siblings: Kelly, Raymond, Ola, Grady, Meredith, Byra and Lora Hoggard and Beulah Pierce. Winston was a member of Ross Baptist Church. He retired from Georgia Pacific as a bulldozer operator. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the Ross Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Rev. Jeffery Russell will officiate.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Jean Phelps Hoggard of the home; daughter, Kay H. Lewis of Edenton; son, David W. Hoggard, Jr. and wife Mary Ellen of Windsor; grandchildren, Michael Hoggard, Renee' Willard (Mike), Blake Fuller (Leslie), Melissa Mingin (Chris); great grandchildren, Katelyne Stacey (James), Kassidy Clark (Nolan), Holden Fuller, Sydney Fuller, Haley Nash, Grace Mingin and Wyatt Mingin.

The family will receive friends at their home.
