Cynthia "Cindy" Bracy Davenport, 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026, at ECU Health Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Davenport was born on March 21, 1961, in Ahoskie, North Carolina, the daughter of Elizabeth Bracy and the late Albert R. Bracy.
Cindy leaves behind 37 wonderful years of memories with her beloved husband, Karl Davenport. She is also survived by her two sons, Bracy Davenport and Billy Davenport; her mother, Elizabeth Bracy; her sisters, Jennifer Spooner, Cindy Henderson, Gina Dillard, and Ranny Starnes; and her brother, Edward Bracy. She also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and a great-niece.
Cindy, known as "BB" to most of her family, had a loyal, giving, and fierce spirit. Nothing was more important to her than her family.
Cindy was a graduate of Ahoskie High School, Class of 1979. She was a longtime employee of Virginia Electric Company (VEC). More recently, she served as Property Manager at Pinegate Apartments in Ahoskie, NC, where she made a lasting impact on residents and staff for more than twenty years.
Cindy was a longtime member of Colerain Baptist Church, where she was an integral and proud part of her church family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Colerain Baptist Church, located at 202 N. Main Street, Colerain, NC 27924 with Pastor Gary Saffell officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park with the following serving as pallbearers: Marshall Henderson, Chris Forehand, Will Cook, Ryan Harris, Flint Perry and Brian Dillard.
The family will receive friends at Walker Funeral Home, 236 US-17 Bypass, Windsor, NC 27983, on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Colerain Baptist Church Youth Ministry C.O.M.E. (Colerain On Missions Everywhere) Program in honor of Cindy Davenport.
