Courtney Coburn Jenkins Odom, 92 died Friday August 17, 2018 at her daughter's home.

Mrs. Odom was born in Martin County on August 3, 1926, to the late Claude Elmer Jenkins and Rilla Bella Ayers Jenkins. She had retired as a court recorder with the NC Judicial System and had worked with Peel and James Attorney's. Courtney was an original member of Community Christian Church that her mother founded. She was a Sunday school teacher, played piano, and was a choir member and a member of the ladies circle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Edward Odom, Sr., daughter, Susan Kathryn Parrott, brothers, Claude Elmer Jenkins, Jr and Lee Burton Jenkins, sisters, Ruth Jenkins Bowen and Wilda Jenkins Benoit.

Survivors include; daughter, Linda Odom Jernigan of Oak City; son, Perry Edward "Butch" Odom (Ann) of League City, TX; sister, Alice Jenkins Seletos of Zephyrhills, FL; son in law, Floyd Parrott of Williamston; grandchildren, Todd Ford, Angela Payne, Susan Parrott, Barry Odom, Amanda Kimbrell, Ana Capps, Nicole Parrott; great grandchildren 12; great great grandchildren 8.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 24, 2018 at Community Christian Church at 2:00 PM with Dale Minton and Joey Brickhouse officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Walker Funeral Home and other times from the home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930 Wellness Dr. # B Greenville, NC 27834.
