Cody Christopher Cobb, 31, was born on March 12, 1995, in Greenville, North Carolina, to Chris Cobb and Michelle Bass Webb. Cody spent the majority of his life in Ahoskie and Windsor, North Carolina, before making his most recent home in Norman, Oklahoma.

On Monday, August 24, 2026, Cody left this earthly life for his heavenly home.

Cody was a 2013 graduate of Lawrence Academy. At the time of his passing, he was employed by United Roofing and Construction, LLC, where he served as a Project Manager/Design Manager.

Cody was truly the light in any room he entered. Outgoing, mannerly, and full of life, he never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and had a special way of making people feel comfortable and welcome. He found great pleasure in making others laugh, and his warm personality brought happiness to so many who knew him.

Cody loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. He was a tremendous joy to his family and friends and was always willing to go the extra mile for someone in need. He had a kind and generous heart and genuinely cared for others. The lives he touched are better because he was a part of them, and the love, laughter, and kindness he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Most importantly, Cody had a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he loved dearly. His family finds comfort in knowing that while his earthly life ended far too soon, his story did not end on August 24. Cody has gone home to the One in whom he placed his faith.

Cody is survived by his mother and stepfather, Michelle Bass Webb and Randy Webb of Ahoskie; his father and stepmother, Chris and Jaimie Cobb of Windsor; his brother, River Harrell of Ahoskie; his stepsisters, Layla, Alyza, and Alexis Grissom; and his stepbrother, Landon Webb.

He is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Willis Michael "Mike" Bass, Sr. of Merry Hill; his paternal grandparents, Buddy and Frances Sumner of Williamston; his maternal uncle, Michael Bass and wife, Lynn of Merry Hill; his paternal aunt, Elizabeth Cobb of Greenville; his special cousins, Willis Bass, Hunter Bass, Amanda Avery, Mason Berry and Logan Clifton; as well as a host of dear family members and friends who loved him deeply.

Cody also leaves behind his two precious feline companions, Mander and Sonny, who held a very special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Teresa Colombo Bass of Merry Hill, and his paternal grandfather, Joe Cobb of Windsor.

Although Cody's time here was much shorter than those who loved him would have ever chosen, the measure of his life is not found simply in the number of years he lived, but in the love he gave, the laughter he shared, the people he helped, and the lives he touched throughout his journey. His time on earth may have been far too brief, but the difference he made will live on forever in the hearts and lives of those who loved him.

Services honoring Cody's life will be held August 30, 2026 at 2:00PM at Walker Funeral Home Chapel in Windsor, North Carolina. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service as well as at the homes of Michelle and Randy Webb in Ahoskie and Chris and Jaimie Cobb, in Chocowinity.

Cody will be laid to rest at Edgewood Cemetery in Windsor, North Carolina, immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions honoring Cody's precious life be made to Dare Challenge, P.O. Box 123, Wanchese, NC 27981. Through these gifts, Cody's life will continue to make a difference in the lives of others.

While saying goodbye to Cody brings a sorrow that cannot be put into words, his family finds comfort in the faith that Cody held so dearly. Because of the promise we have through Jesus Christ, death does not have the final word. There is hope beyond this life, the promise of eternity, and the assurance that one day those who place their faith in Jesus will be together again.
