Carol Jean Pierce, 80 of Bethany Church Road, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center.

Mrs. Carol Jean was born in Bertie County on August 7, 1943 to the late Tommy L. and Annie White Mizelle. If you knew Carol, you knew she had a heart of caring. She cared for many while working in health care. After she retired from being a Certified Nursing Assistant, some of her favorite things that she enjoyed were spending time on her porch, cooking, and making memories with her family.

Carol married the love of her life, Paul Sutton Pierce, almost 63 years ago, and through their marriage, God blessed them with three wonderful sons. She was a member of Askewville Assembly of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her, son; Timothy Pierce; sisters: Sue Dunlow, Mary Deans Castelloe, and Alice Harrison; brothers; T.J. Mizelle, Elwood Mizelle, Charles Mizelle and James Mizelle; daughter-in-law; Jean Copeland Pierce.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Sutton Pierce, of the home; two sons, Kenneth "Kent" Pierce of Edenton, and Michael Pierce of Windsor; three grandchildren, Jacob Pierce and Ellison Pierce of Edenton, and Angela Pierce of Michigan; sister, Lois Pierce of Windsor.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Edgewood Cemetery in Windsor, NC. The Rev. R. O. Denton, Jr. will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from their home.
