Cameron Whitfield passed away unexpectedly after a very short illness on April 19, 2026. He was 35 years old.  Cameron was preceded in death by his beloved younger brother, Oliver Ehlers. From childhood on, Cameron found joy under open skies—swimming, swinging, kayaking and hiking through the woods, always chasing sunshine and fresh air. Ever the mischievous guy, Cameron was always up to something and it was up to us to figure out what he was up to!  Racing to keep up with others, Cameron made sure he never missed the fun!  He was quick to hitch a piggyback ride or grab a hand to help him keep up but Cameron always wanted to be in on the excitement!

From a very early age, Cameron loved music.  His tastes were very eclectic and ranged from The Carpenters, to Reba McEntire to Barney the Purple Dinosaur! When asked, he would "sing" his very own song for you-his eyes would light up, he lifted his head and his smile would take over his whole face as he serenaded you with his song.  Cameron faced the world with a fearless spirit that inspired everyone who knew him. He met a lifetime of disability with uncommon grace, humor, and a signature belly laugh that sparked laughter in others. He taught us courage by living it—boldly, generously, and without apology. As Cameron aged and his disability took over his body, he was still up to go exploring in a car or golf cart ride or simply sitting outside in the sun with those who loved him.

He is survived by his parents, siblings Hayden (Sky, Cassidy), Kaden, Lainey, and Henry; his nieces and nephews; and Brandon, the best friend and roommate a guy could ask for. Each carries a piece of Cameron's light forward.

Cameron's family and friends will remember him for his kindness, his love of the outdoors, and the way he made even ordinary days feel like an adventure. His fearless heart and contagious joy changed us, and that legacy will endure in every trail walked, every dive into cool water, and every burst of shared laughter.
