Dateline: Colerain

Burgess Frank Jernigan 76, of the Elm Grove community passed away in the early hours of the morning on January 13, 2025 at The Carrolton of Williamston. Mr. Burgess was born on November 3, 1948 to the late Garland and Beaulah Mizelle Jernigan. He enjoyed fishing, construction and worked as a mechanic for Weyerhaeuser.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Shannon Jernigan and one sister, Judy Jernigan Selby. He is survived by one son, Kevin Jernigan (Kelly) of Williamston; two daughters: Jeana Jernigan and Renae Jernigan of Colerain; one brother, Tony Jernigan of Colerain; one sister Sudie Oliver (Jerry) of Laurel Springs, NC; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and one nephew.

Per his request a private burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery.
