Dateline: Colerain

Bonnie Perry Britton, age 65, of Colerain, NC passed away early Friday morning, September 5, 2025.

Bonnie was born in Greenville, NC on September 12, 1959 to George Donald Perry Sr. and Lucille Jernigan Perry, who preceded her in death. She was an accomplished nurse with over 40 years of experience. Bonnie was a pioneer in Telehealth and started the first remote monitoring program in North Carolina. In 2010, she was the 13th inductee into the American Telemedicine Association's College of Fellows. Her passion for advancing the adoption and implementation of remote patient monitoring led to opening her own telehealth company, Reconnect4Health, which has helped patients nationwide for the last 11 years.

Bonnie loved spending time on the Chowan River at Perry's Beach and watching Tar Heel basketball. She was a proud season ticket holder and when she couldn't attend a game in person, she loved sharing her tickets with others so they could cheer on the Heels in her stead.

She is survived by her son Perry Britton and wife Christin of Windsor; brother George Donald Perry II (Buck) and wife Kathy of Colerain; sister Phyllis Perry Bradshaw and husband Frankie of Greenville; two grandchildren: Hudson Britton and Haley Drew Britton; and beloved dog, Teddy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Open Door Bertie with Pastor Jay Rivenbark officiating the service. The family will receive visitors immediately following the service for a reception at Colerain Beach pavilion.
