Bobby Ray Whitehurst, Jr., 54 of Prison Camp Rd., died Monday, April 1, 2024, at ECU Inpatient Hospice.

Bobby was born on May 10, 1969, in Edgecombe County, to the late Bobby Ray and Lovie Irene Strickland Whitehurst. He was a self-employed heating and air contractor. Bobby loved to hunt, fish and work.

Survivors include; wife, Billie Joe Bland Whitehurst of the home; daughter, Nora Whitehurst of Williamston; sons, Bobby Ray Whitehurst, III of Williamston and Cameron Joe Whitehurst of Greenville; brother, Kenneth Whitaker of Bear Grass; sisters, Deborah Farr of Williamston, and Becky Ripple of Florida; grandchildren, six.

A graveside funeral service will be at the Oak City Cemetery on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 1:00 PM with Louellen Knox officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the funeral home, and other times from the home of Nora Whitehurst, 4150 Prison Camp Rd., Williamston, NC.
