Bobby Rhoades Hughes, 72 of Old US Hwy 17 N, died Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice.

Mr. Hughes was born on September 12, 1949 in Bertie County to the late Rhoades and Virginia Elizabeth Casper Hughes. He was retired as a machine operator from Avoca Farms. Bobby enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and fishing. Bobby was a veteran and served in the Marine Corps.

Survivors include; wife, Glenda Owens Hughes of the home; sons, Thomas Rhodes Hughes and wife Janon of Currituck and Nicholas Beadles and wife Krista of Grandy; brother, William Edward Hughes, and wife Pat of Edenton; sister, Virginia Baker Burnett of Wendell; grandchildren, Olivia, and Grayson Hughes.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Walker Funeral Home with Randy Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
