Betty Jean Green White, 86, of 218 Pocosin Road passed away December 6, 2023 at Novant Health in Clemmons, NC. She was born in Robersonville, NC, April 2, 1937 to the late Melvin McKinley and Effie Manning Green and was predeceased by her husband, Walter L. White whom she married July 4, 1953; sons, Timothy Allen White and Walter Ronnie White.

Betty Jean was a member of Askewville Baptist Church, a homemaker and helped her husband with the farming. She was an experienced seamstress. She loved creating with her hands by sewing, crocheting, and quilting during the cold winter. In spring and summer her vegetable garden was where she'd be, or else in the kitchen canning and freezing her harvest. Betty loved her pecan trees and made a great pecan pie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Askewville Baptist Church. Rev. Zack Hicks will officiate. A burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Janine White Wooten and husband, David; son Christopher Wayne White all of Mocksville, NC; sisters, Gloria Arthur of Nashville, NC, Becky White of Williamston, NC; brother, Robert "Bobby" Green of Rocky Point, NC; grandson, Jason Atkinson.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Askewville Baptist Church and from the home at other times.
